Meet the Author
Angela Cartee
I’m a writer, a Professional Learning Technology Specialist, a winemaker’s helper, and a woman who figured out somewhere around 50 that life gets a whole lot more interesting when you stop waiting for permission.
I spent years teaching English, helping students fall in love with words, characters, and the occasional dramatic comma before finally taking my own advice and writing down the stories I’d been carrying around for years.
I write fiction about people who are in the middle of something. Or the middle of everything. Aging, aching, starting over, burning out, giving up, not giving up...
The stories are short-ish, honest-ish, and usually funny-ish—unless they sneak up and make you feel something first.
I started SIPLit™ because I believe stories and wine have more in common than we give them credit for. They both ask you to slow down. To pay attention. To feel something.
I live, write, and (with my husband, the real winemaker) make wine in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, where the grapes grow wild and the stories do, too.
Thanks for being here. I hope something in these pages makes you laugh, nod, or say, “Oh no, same.”
Take ‘er easy,
Angela
